Employee Highlight: Shyam

A little bit about Shyam.?

Shyam was born and raised in Bangalore, India. He completed a Bachelor of Computer Science from Atria Institute of Technology in 2008 and went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology located in Hyderabad, India. After graduating in 2010, Shyam began his career in coding, starting for a company called Symphony Net and then landing with ZopSmart Technologies. At ZopSmart Shyam began honing his skills under a great leadership team.

Fast forward a few years, Shyam was put in touch with Rahul Rao and Tanmaya Singh by Abhishek (a friend), who brought him on board with the CloudAdvisors team as a developer in 2017. Through his diligence, knowledge, and organizational skills Shyam was promoted to Technical Project Manager in 2018 where he bridges the gap between stakeholders, product designers, developers, and the testing team on a daily basis. Our team at CloudAdvisors is incredibly grateful for all of the hard work Shyam has put in over the last five years.?

What do you like about working at CloudAdvisors?

“There are many aspects of the job I like! I’ve really enjoyed learning to develop new solutions and products with the team while helping each other overcome certain obstacles. I love how much room there is for experimentation to reach the best possible standards within the development industry. The standards continue to change year after year. It’s been amazing to have been a part of the core team that’s creating a platform that pushes the boundaries and that we hope will be as successful as some of the tech giants in the world!

I also definitely appreciate the flexibility our culture has created. The ability for me to work on my own schedule has allowed me to visit my sister in Austin, Texas this year. I had originally planned to visit her in 2020 and obviously the pandemic derailed my plans. But, our team was really flexible in helping me plan my visit. I have been traveling, visiting family, and working remotely in the United States since April of this year. Of course working remotely In the US has come with its challenges. For example working with the team while on North American hours. But, in many ways it has actually increased the development team's overall productivity quite a bit since we have been able to reduce the time between design changes and implementation.”

What do you do outside of work for fun?

“I’m an avid cricket fan. Both playing and watching. I support team India and the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the India Premier League (IPL). When I’m back home, I play as a batsman and outfielder every week. Other than cricket I also enjoy playing badminton and cycling. There are some great trails in and around Bangalore that I love to explore on my bike.

When I’m not playing sports I like to watch movies, hang out with my friends and travel. Next on my list after Austin is to travel to Canada and meet the team soon!”
