Employee Highlight: Liz

A little bit about Liz.

Liz was born and raised in Burnaby, BC to Hongkongese-Canadian parents. As a third year student at the Sauder School of Business, Liz is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Marketing and a concentration in Data Analytics. She’s extremely grateful that her family has given her the support and opportunity to pursue her passion at university.?

Liz joined the CloudAdvisors team after her second year of university. While looking for her first internship, she knew she wanted to join a growing company where she would be able to grow her interest in digital marketing. After her interview, she immediately knew it was a place where she would fit in and could grow in multiple areas of interest. Not really knowing what to expect out of her very first internship, Liz enjoyed the opportunity to work on different projects in the overall marketing strategy, including copywriting, social media, SEO, webinars, email marketing, and more.?

What do you like about working at CloudAdvisors?

“From the very beginning I knew that CloudAdvisors was going to be a great fit. The team at CloudAdvisors is absolutely amazing and this has been really evident to me ever since the very beginning. Everyone is encouraging and supportive in my learning and it has allowed me to gain trust in my abilities. It also allowed me to know that the work I’m doing is impacting the lives of many employees across Canada.?

I’ve also loved the opportunity to work directly with leadership. As I transitioned from an intern to a coordinator my responsibilities and the projects I worked on did differ. While I gained more responsibility, I also found a greater weight in my voice. The team at CloudAdvisors completely trusted me to lead my own projects, whether it be around social media campaigns, webinars, and more.??

I know we all say this in these interviews but I love the flexibility we get. Fully remote work has been incredibly convenient for me to both work part time and attend school full time. Although it would be nice to have an office to see everyone daily, the team does a great job at making every team member engaged, especially through our daily check-ins and team events. I couldn’t imagine working a whole day without talking to anyone!”

What do you do outside of work for fun?

“To be honest I haven’t had much time to spend on my hobbies so far this year, outside of being in school full time, working, and participating in extracurricular activities. But, when I’m not doing one of those three things I love exploring my creative side, especially when it comes to painting, jamming out to music, and digital design. I also love trying different restaurants around Vancouver and going on camping trips with friends and family. For any of you camping lovers out there I highly recommend Galiano Island!”

What are you looking forward to this summer?

This summer, I’m really looking forward to spending time with my family and friends outdoors, probably hiking, swimming or playing spikeball. I’m also excited to be bringing the experiences and skills I’ve gained from working at CloudAdvisors into my next co-op position as a marketing coordinator for a fintech company. I’m so grateful to have spent such an amazing year at CloudAdvisors and I know that the relationships I’ve built will be long lasting. Thanks CloudAdvisors, I’ll miss you!
