What’s also exciting is the expansion of these Team Member benefits. Earlier this year, HGV announced that all eligible full-time new hires could opt in to important benefits like medical, dental, vision and other supplemental insurance on day one of their job.

“Starting a new job is always an overwhelming process,” Kennerley said. “For me, I was coming from a period of self-employment, so I had to readjust to working for a larger company like HGV. This meant learning about the processes and expectations in my role, as well as navigating the benefits packages."

“It was honestly a relief to learn that my benefits immediately covered me with no waiting period. I could immediately book the dental appointments I’d been putting off,” she said with a laugh. “But on a more serious note, it was a simple way that HGV let me know I was cared for. I’ve had jobs where the waiting period was 30 days or more and I worried about my coverage lapsing and something happening in the interim. So it was reassuring that my benefits at HGV started working when I did.”

Plus, Kennerley was impressed by the benefits offering. “My partner is going to join my health insurance during open enrollment, even though he was enrolled in his company’s insurance. My pets are even insured, so it feels like HGV is helping to take care of my whole family ,” she said.
