Employee Appreciation

We often talk about the critical importance of operating for our four stakeholders -- our employees, customers, society and shareholders -- and today, on Employee Appreciation Day, I want to take a moment to focus on our employees and say thank you. 

To our Verizon Media employees - 

What a time to be celebrating employee appreciation! For many of us, we are at the one-year mark when COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines kicked in and our daily routines were notably impacted. As I think about what you all have endured and accomplished in the past year, I am filled with a sense of gratitude, pride and awe. Each and every day, you all showed up to innovate and create for our customers, our society, and our shareholders. As the world grew "socially distant" and the reality of what we were facing as a global community set in, you were not intimidated. Instead, you saw the unique opportunity and responsibility we had to our 900M users to keep them connected to the things they loved. And as those things evolved during COVID-19, you kept pace with and anticipated those changes, because you knew what was at stake for the people we served: connection and community became even more important, and we found ways to deepen those connections and enhance their experiences.

I know it wasn’t easy -- in fact, it was harder than we imagined -- but we continued to show up each and every day, face the challenges head on, and deliver on our mission and purpose. And while I know we aren’t through the woods yet, this year has proved just how adaptable, creative, and kind our community of Builders is, and I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you. I see, appreciate and value you.
