Employee Appreciation Day 2022

Employee Appreciation Day 2022

If the challenges of the pandemic have highlighted anything for us, it’s the importance of our employees - they are the lifeblood of every organization, so having a strategy for employee engagement and development is no longer just a “nice to have”, it’s critical for long-term success. ?Engaged employees are more likely to be committed to business results, going out of their way to go out of their way to fix a problem, share information and commit to organizational values, strategies and culture. But even more timely given the dynamic workforce changes we are facing, better engaging your employees enables you to know what they want and need, therefore allowing you to meet their needs; this in turn can help reduce turnover and improve recruitment.

Employee appreciation is an important part of any engagement strategy, and what better time for managers and leaders to demonstrate their gratitude than National Employee Appreciation Day, which is this Friday, March 4th.? There are so many ways to celebrate this holiday; think about giving gift cards, serving up an in-office lunch (which is great for team building!) or taking the team out for a group activity outside the office. Other forms of recognition have the added benefit of reducing burnout in the long run—according to a recent study of 1,500 workers, 35% of employees said that paid time off is their favorite perk. But the best way to learn what employees need is to simply ask them.

With that in mind, we want to hear from you!! We’ve put together our own short online survey and are encouraging business leaders and employees to share what your company does to celebrate their employees on National Employee Appreciation Day, as well as throughout the year. This Friday, one lucky person will be randomly drawn to receive lunch for their team later in March. We’ll also select a few submissions for a feature article showcasing how Rosslyn businesses express their gratitude for their employees.

Given the challenges of the last two years and the unprecedented shifts in workplace culture, it’s more important than ever to let employees know they are valued. The companies that are thriving are those who are tuned in to their employees’ needs and spend time regularly celebrating them in a way that is truly appreciated.?
