Emplas hosts popular ‘Emplas Open’
Emplas welcomed 75 guests to join them on the golf course to celebrate the second Emplas Open on June 6 at Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire, who also raised a magnificent £13,465 for the fabricator’s chosen charity, Niamh’s Next Step (NNS).
Customers and suppliers enjoyed a challenging round of golf in sunny conditions, followed by a three-course dinner and entertainment provided by comedian Jamie Sutherland.
“Our inaugural event in 2023 was such a success that our Emplas Open has already become a firm fixture in the calendar,” Emplas Group MD Ryan Johnson said. “It’s a great way to spend time with our customers and thank them for their continuing business.
“Together we also managed to raise £13,465 for NNS. NNS founder, Chris Curry, who joined us for the day, lost his daughter Niamh to Neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer in 2012, and set this charity up in her memory. I am proud that we were able to raise such a large sum of money.”
Neuroblastoma affects around 100 children each year in the UK. It usually affects children under the age of five, and can occur before a child is born. NNS helps raise awareness of the condition, funds vital research, and supports children, and their families, who are suffering from the effects of the disease.
The golf got underway with a shotgun start at 11am, and 19 teams set out to compete for several prizes. In addition to the team and individual prizes, there were trophies for Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin, and Beat the Pro (Chris Foster on the 16th).
After a three-course meal in Poles Hall, prizes were awarded to the following:
