Emperor Wu Di (543 - 578 CE) had probably brown eyes, black hair and a stroke risk - the power of ancient DNA analysis
A team at Shanghai's Fudan University has analysed ancient DNA from a skull unearthed from a mausoleum in Shaanxi Province, and recovered over one million SNPs in this DNA which suggest phenotypic characteristics and disease risks. The results of this study are described in an article in Current Biology.
