Empathy + Resilience + Self-Awareness

Empathy + Resilience + Self-Awareness

BIAS

Pithy and profound ?? quote from Adam Grant, organizational psychologist and Wharton professor: “The moment you believe you’re not biased, you’re incapable of seeing any of your bias.”

Trying to get someone - a teammate, direct report, child, friend, partner - to talk more? You might be surprised at how effective the Junto Emotion Wheel can be in getting others to open up.

WINDOWS TO THE SOUL

Eye contact has long been known as one of the most powerful ways to connect with people. It's also the only way to signal to someone that you might be listening to them. While you're at it, ?? ?watch their non-verbals, body language, and how they use their physical space. You'll learn more about them, build emotional empathy, reflect back that you are indeed listening, and gain ?? windows to their soul. Yeah, healthy eye contact is that ?? powerful.

"Don't look over other people's shoulders. Look into their eyes. Don't talk at your children. Take their faces in your hands and talk to them."

- Leo Buscaglia

REMINDER: VUCA

You can build better resilience by knowing about the ?? volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity in your life and work. If you're experiencing any VUCA right now, remember that the key to (re)building resilience is having a bias for action. That involves ?? two things: (a) tapping into your internal locus of control, and (b) taking ?? action to influence only what you can. Everything else is simply noise.

LEAD YOURSELF

You are far more ??? capable than you might think. Whatever it is that you're struggling with these days - at home, at work, in the world - know that you have access to ? tips, tools, and techniques to enhance your self-awareness and self-management. The eight building blocks in those levels can help you navigate virtually anything so that you can be better at ?? leading yourself. ?
