The Stewardship term being used in PMBOK 7th Edition.
Being a member of PMI, a certified PMP and a seasoned facilitator for Project Management courses, I have been following very closely the PMBOK from its 4th Edition.
The latest PMBOK 7th Edition is in a highly welcoming format and the 12 Management Principles speaks a lot. For the first time there is an emphasis on empathy from a leader. The word "Stewardship" and the definition of it - "Be a diligent, respectful, and caring steward," says it all. It is expected that all futuristic leaders be able to demonstrate empathy while being emotionally intelligent. Brains with heart is going to be the futuristic norm. Employees/project team members shall not be treated as any other resource (more of a bot), rather understand and empathize with them. Kudos to PMI for bringing this innovation into the PMBOK.
The 12 Management Principles as mentioned in PMBOK 7th Edition published by PMI, USA are also emphasizing the traits of a Project Manager that need to be demonstrated while handling a project.

3 年With the 6th edition focusing on servant leadership and the 7th edition focusing on stewardship, I believe that we can expect future PMPs to grow into excellent leaders. Great read Ravi! Thanks for summarising.
