The recent observation of Hijra's encounter with a scooter-riding family at an intersection reduced my emotional distance while expanding my understanding of empathy together with emotional intelligence (EI).
A Hijra ran across the road over a barricade to speak with a family who had stopped on their scooter. I immediately thought she wanted money because she carried notes in her hand.
Halfway through the day a fantastic scene automatically evolved.
Both members of the Hijra and the welcoming family showed each other warm greetings in the manner of longtime associates. Throughout my observation, I saw they had developed a strong connection that years had cultivated. Due to their commute, the family contacted the Hijra continuously to check how she was doing.
Just before departing, the Hijra shared a deep, affectionate hug with the man riding the scooter. Their facial expressions radiated pure happiness.
At that second I saw humans showing their best traits.
Empathy: Developing empathy stands as the number one requirement for leaders to succeed in today's world.
Emotional Intelligence Reflections
The straightforward encounter highlighted the first-rank importance of empathy as an essential workplace leadership skill in contemporary businesses.
1?? . Empathy over Sympathy: When leaders practice empathy, they move beyond feeling compassionate toward people to genuinely experience what their emotions accomplish. Such genuine interaction produces strong, authentic bonds between people.
2?? Breaking Biases: We all carry unconscious biases. Observing people's genuine potential demands the complete disappearance of prejudice and preconceived notions.
3?? Building Bonds: According to neuroscience data mirror neuron activation happens when we feel empathy which results in building trust and emotional bonds while also experiencing happiness together. Smaller regular actions performed frequently develop robust relationships among people.

The development of this competency would transform the world if leaders managed to master it. A world where leaders:
- Prioritize understanding over assumptions.
- Form productive work environments focused on inclusivity together with trust-building principles.
- Leaders navigate their decisions through mindset and emotion together.
If such an arrangement is formed, humans could build successful business relationships alongside strong citizen commitments.
Let’s take inspiration from these small yet impactful moments of humanity and reflect: Finding ways to practice empathy represents our key priority when it comes to everyday interpersonal exchanges.
Leave your thinking or present a real story that proves that people still hold faith in each other. A dialogue about empathy-based leadership needs to start. ???
When leaders focus on mastering EI, they evolve holistically, becoming more adaptable, relatable, and effective in every aspect of their role.
So, isn’t it clear what leaders should prioritize? EI isn’t just another skill—it’s the foundation for transformational leadership.
What are your experiences and thoughts on Leaders & EI skills? Let’s discuss. ??
