EMOTIONAL WITCHCRAFT (PT.2)

Introduction

The Bible warns us against witchcraft because it is a spiritual force that causes us to take leave of our senses. Witchcraft releases strong confusion against our minds so that Jesus, our mission and purpose of life is not the clear focus of our lives. Once that happens, we are more vulnerable to the vain imaginations the enemy whispers to our souls. We have a responsibility to know about this spiritual wickedness and guard ourselves against it. With that said, there are signs to show you are under emotional witchcraft attack right now.

Witchcraft is an intensely emotional and spiritual activity. The activities of witchcraft fundamentally impact of your emotional conditions as well as your physical and spiritual states. Let us point out some ways to understand when emotional witchcraft is at work.

Fatigue

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed (1 Samuel 15:9).

The people were unwilling to utterly destroy the best of the cattle, sheep and all that was good. The term “unwilling” is Hebrew maasa which means to faint, liquefy, fear and melt away, implying spiritual, physical and mental fatigue.

Spiritual and physical fatigue is a much-used weapon of witchcraft. Emotional witchcraft drains the life (energy) right out of you. When attacked, you feel tired, depressed, oppressed and fatigued. You can take vitamins, exercise, run five miles and it still doesn't help.

Have you noticed that many people wake up, go to work and tired all the time? Could some of them be suffering from a witchcraft assignment? Yes, of course. Others feel sad, sleep all the time and feel trapped in depression and can't get out. What I used to think was simply that these are stress-related, while some might be, I strongly suspect most to be the indication of witchcraft attacks. There were times, for example, when I was felt extremely stressed, gave myself timeout to rest. There have been other times when I have been well rested, in superb spiritual and mental health, bills are all paid, everything is good, but I find myself exhausted. When you know the fatigue is not medical - or stress-related, it is witchcraft's assignment.

If you find yourself always tired especially after sleep and at work when you have taken time to rest, it probably means there are witchcraft has targeted you. Don’t give into the desire to have hours of witchcraft induced sleep. That is just what the devil wants you to do. You should never feel tired or sluggish with adequate rest or sleep. Don’t let anyone tell you these things are normal emotions or that “you just need more sleep.” It is witchcraft clearly. Take authority over every attack of fatigue, tiredness of body, mind and spirit. Rebuke the spirit of witchcraft at work against you. Command your energy level to return and increase in Jesus name.

Soul Tie

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed. And Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed" (1 Samuel 15:9, 15).

Saul instead of totally destroying everything, he instructed his army to spare the best of the sheep, cattle, goats, women and took Agag, the King alive. Saul and the people destroyed what was worthless and despised but spared the best of the sheep, goats, cattle and women. The emphasis here is on best, Hebrew is meytab which refers to what is beautiful, appealing to the eyes, and appeasing to the soul. This is the tool of emotional witchcraft.

Witchcraft uses soul ties to control its victims. A soul tie is an emotional bond or connection that unites you with someone or something else than God. A soul tie is establishes controlling influence over you. You identify a soul tie is at work when you want to be rid of something/someone from your mind and your life, even when you are far away from them and out of their presence, yet, you still feel as if they are a part of you and a part of you is with them, causing you to feel unwholesome, as if you have given up some of yourself that cannot be easily possessed again.

Soul ties are formed through close friendships, through vows, commitments and promises, through physical intimacy, obsessive entanglements with a person (giving them more authority in your life than you give to God) and controlling relationships. Soul ties are what emotional witchcraft wants to create with you. If they can hook your emotions, then they can gain a soul tie with you. If they can form a soul tie with you, then they can control you. These soul ties are used solely for the purpose of manipulation, control and selfish gain. Destroy every hex, vex or ungodly soul tie in your life in Jesus name. Every soul tie to anybody or anything, to witchcraft controlling you, break their hold over your life.

Troubled Mind

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed. Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed are you of the LORD! I have performed the commandment of the LORD. And Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. And Saul said to Samuel, "But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal. Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice (1 Samuel 15: 9, 13, 15, 20, 21, 24).

Notice that six times, the mind of Saul kept replaying the scenes and images of what happened at Amalek. Saul could not just get over it and push it out of his mind because he was troubled.

When witchcraft has invaded your soul through wrong soul ties, your mind will not be at rest. This is where your battle takes place. When your mind constantly replays images of the past and rehearsing previous conversations like a broken record, then you are under the attack of emotional witchcraft. Your thoughts produce fear or make you feel unclean. Whatever is going on in your mind is affecting your emotional state. Your feelings are indicators of what you are thinking about.

When emotional witchcraft is at work you have trouble paying attention: When witchcraft attacks, it can feel like your mind is scrambled like an egg. You have trouble staying focused on the tasks at hand. Your mind wanders to and fro. You just can't keep a train of thought or pay attention to what you are hearing or reading. It can be difficult to hear from God and discern the devil. We must walk in 1 Peter 5:8: "Be sober and watchful, because your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Come against every form of obsession you are experiencing right now. Whatever has destabilized your mind, bind it. Use the authority of Jesus to command sanity into your mind now.

Spiritual Slothfulness

But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed. And Saul said to Samuel, "But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites (1 Samuel 15: 9, 20)

Reluctance is unwillingness; a lack of enthusiasm and dragging your feet on an issue. It is in reluctance that we try to find a middle ground, and compromise a divine word so as to justify ourselves that at least we obeyed. In vs.9, the people were unwilling to utterly destroy the best of the cattle, sheep and all that was good. The term “unwilling” is Hebrew lo? ?abah which means not to voluntarily accept and consent to a situation, implying disobedience or non-submission.

Slothfulness starts when we think we know better than God does. God commanded the Israelites to completely destroy the Amalekites (v. 2-3), but Saul thought that good things should be spared. There are some of us who have been instructed by God, we had a personal encounter, and we heard him clearly when He spoke about our lifestyle, but we have chosen to find a middle ground. Most of the time spiritual slothfulness manifests when we can find something that tells us that we are not totally wrong. It is a life of deceitful compromise of Bible principles and patterns of life. At this point we look for beautiful names for sin: fornication is called dating, adultery becomes a fling, etc.

When it comes to spiritual principles, such flexibility becomes sin. Dictionary.com defines this sort of reluctance as “a dishonorable or shameful concession.” King Saul made a seemingly minor adjustment to one of God’s commands and ended up forfeiting his divine right to be ruler. Anytime we adjust God’s word to us to suite our situations and circumstances, we allow the spirit of witchcraft to take over our lives. Whatever you compromise to get, is what you will eventually lose.

“I didn’t mean to disobey God…on purpose.” If you feel like you have been dealing with a situation for far too long and nothing seems to help you get beyond it, remember this phrase: God will not advance your instructions beyond your last act of disobedience. If you don’t fully obey what God is telling you to do, you will never move beyond your current circumstances. I don’t know what that means to you, but I know what it meant for me years ago. I was desperate to move beyond my circumstances no matter how painful it would be. Never allow witchcraft to keep you in the pool of disobedience. Release you from spiritual slothfulness in Jesus name.

Credibility by Association

Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD. Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God (1 Samuel 15:24, 25, 30).

Saul was under the influence of emotional witchcraft. You can notice how desperate he was to seek legitimacy to his person and activity through association with Samuel. He wanted Samuel to return and worship with him. Samuel was the prophet of the Lord and priest of Israel. Saul said “honour me”. The word honour” is the Hebrew kabad, which is to make weighty, glorious and adorable. The presence of Samuel with Saul would transfer credibility to Saul that he was operating in the spirit of Samuel when he was not.

This is the master stroke of Emotional witchcraft, they seek credibility by association. This is why witches/wizards are often very difficult to fish out. They seek a legitimate front for their person to project what they are not as a coy to cover up their real person. To look good, those operating in emotional witchcraft surround themselves with men and women of character. They try to associate themselves with credible people and those with good reputations in an attempt to make it look like they are part of that group. Simon, a sorcerer, for example, joined Philip's ministry team in Samaria (Acts 8:9-10, 18-21). The Apostle Peter discerned Simon's motives and rebuked him. Beware of those who want relationship with you at all cost. Be wary of those whose relationship with you is to give them legitimacy of personality and acceptance. Every emotional witchcraft who has positioned themselves in your life by witchcraft, to use associating with you to gain credibility, break that relationship.

Conclusion

Witchcraft attacks originate from somewhere because of the actions of somebody. Words spoken to you, for example, can release demonic assignments that attack your life. Sometimes witchcraft attacks come from those people you know that are everyday people in your life. These are persons you know who they are, but don’t know all they totally are. What these witchcraft controllers do is to establish themselves in your life by the things you do. Close the door to them today.
