Emotional Intelligence to Team Building
High Performance Teams is one of the wishes of "almost" everyone that are in management function and, being frank, it is not a surprise thinking that it is really a shortcut to the operational excellence and results overcome. You are probably asking yourself why i've said "almost", i'm gonna be there, be patient and take time to follow the way taking the essence instead of to be average just waiting to the bill of cake.
High Performance Team is not a take and leave candy, is not something that you ask and minutes later on will gonna be at your hands being functionally efficient, it is something that you have to build up to be Sustainable. There are plenty of examples of people and companies that achieve certain level of services that bring a fake impression that it is, executing their projects in a high stand levels, achieving their strategic targets, overcoming their short and medium term expectations and, from time to time, start to see everything falling down at their fingers so they start to ask themselves Why ? Where is what was here ?
So it is time to come back to the "almost", to answer that, much more than to have a high performance team, is to make sure that it had been built up based on trust, based on leadership example, team spirit behaviors, because it is what gonna bring Sustainability and all of those will never come without Emotional Intelligence.
To raise up the bar and achieve the best in terms of performance you have overcome roadblocks and that it will not be possible without cooperation, without skills compensation, support, common and full people engagement, focus & commitment and last but not least, being guide by an example, by a result oriented but an Emotional Intelligent Leader, Intelligent enough to bring up the stakeholders, to smooth swing at the executive committee to ensure support to ups and downs, to be the reference, the entrepreneur, the pioneer, someone that they trust, that looking at his/her eyes and wordless they know that he/she will be always there and for everything that they need even to their personal life.
It is mine and comes from background, sure, but mainly from mistakes.
Motivation is something that you cannot force no one to have or build up, but inspire people being the reference and a example will make them feel empowered and will make them find their "Whys" that is Sustainable shortcut to the High Performance. Jeferson Zimmer
Team is more than a High Performance Department ! The bar have to be raised up continuously, day after day, otherwise you gonna be killed by the market, mainly when you got in comfort zone thinking that because you were number one on your market segment you gonna be always there. Castle can be done with stone but as a pioneer as well as a Emotional Intelligent leader, your hands have to be there, your eyes and your face have to remembered by all of your employees as someone that is an example to them, someone that they can trust and vulnerable enough to be Emotionally open to grow up with his/her community.
