Emotional intelligence is as important as other skills for outstanding leadership. Dealing effectively with emotions is a key leadership skill. A leader manages the mood of the organization by having a blend of qualities and abilities. A good leader manages his emotions by relating well to others. A leader intuitively grasp others feeling and can influence in a better way. Attuning emotions also helps to overcome negative thoughts, control in volatile situations and understand others when they don’t behave in an expected way.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive emotions, understand relationships & manage their own and others' emotions. A person high in emotional intelligence is better able to deal with Customers and make strong positive connections with everyone, which is an important way to attain success as a leader. Emotional intelligence is an indispensable ingredient of leadership, which enhances attributes like empathy, humility, self-control and patience.
Leadership begins with self-awareness – understanding strengths & weaknesses, the ability to learn from difficulties and respond in a positive way. Great leaders inspire, motivate and energize through emotional intelligence. Becoming more finely attuned to emotions allows determining to use it to make stronger decisions, overcome negative thoughts and control during volatile situations.
We heard mostly at the workplace two emotions – anger & stress, which are actually deeper feelings. It is a must to develop a greater level of emotional agility to be more successful in the World. It is important to recognize emotions, cope with complexities & challenges of the workplace and then respond in a way that aligns with our values. Emotional agility helps to enable to navigate difficult turns in the most thoughtful way with an open mind.

4 年True sir.. it’s predominant nowadays to have the ability to discriminate and recognise different emotions and their impacts . For self awareness,social awareness or self management EQ is crucial.
