When I wrote “THE DAILY SIX” I created a book that had bookends. Willingness on one end and Action at the other. Willingness gets you started and taking action creates change. It's one thing to read a book and a whole other thing to apply what you have read.?
The most important thing is to take the action to a point where it makes sense for you as a person who ‘wants to create change’. What does it take for you to move from here to there??
One of the questions I ask people is "How do you feel on a daily basis on a scale of one to ten??
Once they give me their number I say, "Okay, well what will it take to move up one number?” For example, if it was four, I ask what it would take to get to a five, not to a ten, but to a five??
The thing I’ve learned about me is if I know I need to do something and it’s causing distress, take action. I move that thing to the top of the list. In other words, the thing I dread the most is the thing I get to be doing right now.?
The Daily Six? are life changing strategies that strengthen personal vision, connect you with your inner spirit, and change the way you feel, think, act, and react at home as well as in the workplace.
I grew up thinking my potential and my happiness were things that were out there, somewhere up ahead. It took losing everything that was important to me–my wife, my kids, my home, my money, and all of the things that I thought made me who I was–to realize that I needed to rebuild my life on a different set of principles, what I now call The Daily Six?…??
#1 - Willingness: All change begins with Willingness, be ready to make change
#2 - Quiet Time: Sets hearts and minds on the right path and in the right direction
#3 - Service to Others: What’s in it ‘from’ me? rather than What’s in it ‘for’ me?
#4 - Love & Forgiveness: Create compassion and connection
#5 - Gratitude: Be grateful for all things at all times
#6 - Action: Sustained Action is required for real change?
Changing the focus of one’s life begins with Willingness, germinates in Quiet Time, and flourishes through Service to Others. The journey to a well-balanced life is enlightened by Love & Forgiveness, enabled by Gratitude, and can only be fulfilled through Action. When observed daily, these principles result in both career achievement and personal contentment.?

2 周Last week I celebrated 35yrs clean & sober! So I have some idea about recovery, but one thing I have learned the hard way is that recovery isn't stationary, but rather a continuing 'child development' process. At 74yrs it's always good to have a target!
