Emotion, reason and the ballot booth.

During the primary season, Sentient’s Proportion of Emotion model outperformed Real Clear Politics polling average in predicting the actual election outcome for 80% of the state primaries studied.

The key? We quantified the implicit emotional appeal of each candidate with Sentient Prime implicit research technology and combined that data with stated voter preference data for a more accurate view of ballot booth behavior. 

Combining System 1 (non-conscious and automatic) and System 2 (conscious and deliberate) voter sentiment is the future of political polling.
