This week's highlights include…Can we succeed Succession? There's a reason that trophy is Gold, The Clutchest After Party Accessory, Move over Skinny Pop, and the OG Fab 4 Females of TV get an Emmy Shout Out!
A bit about me, Marta Ravin and then let’s get to this week’s Roundup!? I am a media, marketing, self help newsletter, beauty product and gift giving junkie (I know it’s a lot of vices for one person to have!!)? So every week I’m going to sort through the best tips, quips and dips (I’m also a sucker for a good appetizer recipe) and share them with my subscribers.? I hope you find this curation helpful. And please chime in with any and all suggestions in the comments.
1. NEWS NOW:
AS LAST NIGHT’S EMMYS PROVED WITH 6 WINS….THERE IS NOTHING TO SUCCEED SUCCESSION!
There’s nothing like being sick with new Covid all week to realize how desperate you are for a "new" Succession. Aside from the stellar acting, writing and directing- when it comes to my viewing pleasure-I love watching phenomenally rich families fight with each other while wearing fabulous clothes from breath taking locations. I’ve tried to watch other genius hits but I just couldn’t get into the them.? I know everyone LOVES Breaking Bad-the amazing acting, brilliant writing blah blah blah…but could it just be slightly less dusty? Do I constantly need to see Brian Cranston in his gray tighty whities? Does anyone in Abuquerque throw fancy parties? Ever? So this week, having been completely up to date on Gilded Age and the modern west coast version, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I had to go deep into Amazon Prime to stay entertained during my feverish Covid malaise. Somewhere around Wednesday I found an oddly fun mashup that I highly recommend. Switching back and forth between Jack Ryan and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. I found the shows very comforting, sort of like if Jim from The Office was all grown up and works for the CIA and the RHOBH have some wacko cousins they want to keep under wraps in Salt Lake City! And just when I ran out of seasons, I found the perfect palette cleanser in Fool Me Once, Harlen Coben's latest miniseries on Netflix. Before I knew it I was Covid free and only slightly dumber then I had started out at the beginning of the week.
2. NEED TO KNOW NEWSLETTER:

And guess what color translates to success, achievement and triumph? You got it! AWARD TROPHY GOLD!!
3. LISTEN UP ZOOMER!:
WE TOOK THE GOOD, WE TOOK THE BAD... AND ANTHONY ANDERSON JUST GAVE THEM A SHOUT OUT!
Every once in a while I find myself in that horrible position of realizing I’m old AF! Well not really compared to SUPER old people but when your surrounded by interns who don’t understand a funny “Baby Jessica falling down the well reference” (It's not too soon, she's 37 and she's fine!) Or trying to explain to your niece who's pining after Jacob Elordi that he’s kinda giving Jordan Catalano Vibes (aka Jared Leto from My So Called Life) or most recently while I was getting my glam done by genius @beckinbeautyxo_ that before Sex Lives of College Girls, before GIRLS and before SATC there was The Facts of Life. They were four smart, beautiful, opinionated young women living in the attic of their boarding school under the close supervision of their zany house mother Mrs. Garrett. Glam girl- Blair, funny girl- Natalie, tomboy- Joe and cute girl on roller skates- Tutti! But it wasn't just a fun show about boarding school; they also dealt with race, class warfare, sexual assault and a young George Clooney. And although poor Becca's eyes had glazed over at some point during my vivid description of Natalie's rape escape, I did feel somewhat nostalgia validated during the opening to the Emmys when Anthony Anderson and his choir from Compton rocked out the theme song! If anyone is interested in checking out The Facts of Life they seem to be offering it on Amazon Prime, Roku and Sling (like anyone has Sling)

THERE'S A NEW SNACK IN TOWN
For those of you munching away on Skinny Pop, Emmy night may I suggest something a wee bit healthier for Oscar night. SNACKLINS! They come in fun flavors like below and are 90 calories and 4g of fat per bag compared to Skinny Pop's 140 cal and 10g of fat. And they're nut, dairy and soy free and Kosher to boot!
#5. CLUTCH MOVE!!
Never worry about showing up at a party empty handed again!
If you were one of the lucky people who found themselves trying to balance a bottle of champagne AND your purse all night at the Emmy After Parties do I have a solution for you! And...it's 1/2 price off. This $25 multi-tasking champagne clutch from Oak Lane via Neiman Marcus not only securely holds a bottle of bubbly but also has a little pocket for cash/id/credit cards. Don’t leave the party without it!
