Emjay Insurance Brokers Become a Fully Family-Owned Company

Emjay Insurance Brokers Pty. Ltd. (Emjay; Company) is pleased to announce a transition of ownership in the Company, effective 17 May 2023. The Cuenca family have become the sole shareholders in Emjay, meaning the Company will now become an entirely family-owned business.

Emjay Founder and Managing Director Mario Cuenca, said this announcement, being the purchase of shares by respective family members, represented an exciting period of generational change in the business, which commenced operations in 1986.

“This is a great day for Emjay. As the Founder of this great 37 year old Company, I have long-planned that my family would one-day, enter and then continue building the business. That’s why we have secured this opportunity to enable our next generation to become key shareholders and play a role in driving growth across our business and continue its legacy for many generations to come,” Mario Cuenca said today.

“We are looking forward to continue working with the Emjay Board, Management and all our staff, to continue to grow our business whilst empowering our clients to embrace risk now and into the future.”

As part of the re-structure, Montana and Christian will be stepping into more senior management roles. They have both built their careers in the insurance profession, at renowned international underwriters prior to joining Emjay. They are both tertiary qualified with degrees in Commerce (Management) and Economics (Commercial Law) respectively, as well as holding their relevant industry accreditations through ANZIF.

Emjay’s previous Director Jeff Murdoch will move to a part-time role within the Company, enabling a smooth transition of responsibilities over the next 12-months.

Emjay would like to acknowledge Mr Murdoch’s ongoing dedication, unwavering commitment and invaluable contribution to the Company over the past 17-years and believe his ongoing support of our new Shareholders, will continue to drive our strategic agenda.
