Emerson breaks ground on state-of-the-art innovation and manufacturing hub at King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) in Saudi Arabia

Emerson, a global technology and engineering company, has announced that it will build a state-of-the-art innovation and manufacturing hub at the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) in Saudi Arabia. The facility, which will be located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, will be dedicated to advancing the development of new technologies and solutions for a wide range of industries, with a specific focus on the oil and gas sector.

This new megaproject is being developed, operated and managed by Saudi Aramco. It will be constructed through three phases occupying 50 square kilometres and situated near industrial areas and highway and railway networks.

The SPARK innovation and manufacturing hub will be a state-of-the-art facility that will bring together Emerson's engineers, scientists, and researchers to collaborate on the development of new technologies and solutions for the oil and gas industry. The facility will feature advanced research labs, design studios, and prototyping spaces, as well as office space for employees and visitors.

One of the key areas of focus for the SPARK innovation and manufacturing hub will be the development of new technologies for the industrial internet of things (IIoT) in the oil and gas sector. Emerson is a leader in the IoT space and the new facility will allow the company to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with connected devices and systems in the oil and gas industry.

The facility will also focus on other emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data analytics. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize the oil and gas industry by improving efficiency, increasing safety, and reducing costs.
