Emerson acquires A.E. Valves to form the global valve technology leader in cryogenic and severe service isolation
Ram Krishnan
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Emerson (EMR:NYSE) / Member of the Board of Directors at Aspen Technology Inc. (AZPN:NASDAQ)
The global LNG market is now more dynamic than ever as energy buyers become more price sensitive and seek out flexible sources of supply. Traditional production and distribution technologies are no longer enough to remain competitive in this new market reality.
Yet as global demand for LNG continues to strengthen, we see our customers capturing this opportunity while driving profitable growth through disciplined investment. That requires selecting the right process technologies to not only enable efficient use of capital, but also to build in long term productivity improvements.
The choice of valve technology can have a profound impact on the return on investments in new and expanded production facilities, as well as the efficiency of ongoing operations and cost of production. Emerson is committed to bringing leading-edge innovations to our customers and deploying our application experts to help ensure the benefits of those investments are realized in their businesses.
In line with that commitment, I am pleased to announce that Emerson has acquired Advanced Engineering Valves (A.E. Valves), which will join the Final Control Group of Emerson Automation Solutions. A.E. Valves are the developers of a breakthrough double eccentric, cavity-free C-ball valve technology that delivers bidirectional, torque seated, friction-free, zero leakage isolation.
This unique design delivers safety, performance, and reliability improvements over traditional ball valves in cryogenic and severe service applications used extensively throughout LNG production and distribution facilities. These valves also have exciting applications in the Oil & Gas, Refining, Chemical, and Aerospace industries.
The addition of A.E. Valves supports Emerson’s Main Valve Partner? initiative to be the premier supplier of final control products for the LNG industry, complementing our Vanessa triple offset valve range to create a single technology leader for process isolation in critical cryogenic and severe service applications. With A.E. Valves, Emerson customers can now leverage a technology advantage at scale across the entire global LNG value chain with a single, accountable partner.
