Emerging Women: Be Seen, Heard, Live and Lead From the Truth of Who You Are!

Yesterday marked 7 years since the birth of Emerging Women and I am humbled and contemplative as we move into our eighth year together. I incorporated Emerging Women on September 11, 2012, while still working in a corporate publishing job; I felt the call to participate in the rise of the feminine on the planet and to focus my attention on promoting leadership that would amplify women’s voices in the world. 

Though I was not aware of it at the time, it was no accident that Emerging Women came into existence on such a somber day - a day that reflects so much of what can go wrong with power and the current imbalance in the stewardship of our world.

Here at Emerging Women, the mission is very clear: we are here to increase women’s leadership around the world and to promote a new paradigm for power that integrates the feminine perspective. We are bringing the divine feminine forward, infusing this into today’s landscape of work and life, and setting the stage for future leaders to follow in our footsteps. We’re altering the way we work and stepping out of the framework that was created for our grandfathers; this revamp and balancing of masculine and feminine energy and values is what we believe will guide us successfully into the next phase of global leadership.

Today I am focused on creating a solid understanding of where we are as Emerging Women and where we are going.

Here are the top 5 challenges we are solving for:

  1. Women are still underrepresented and isolated in the workplace as well as the entrepreneurial landscape. This can feel intimidating, overwhelming and prevent us from moving forward. The age of WE is here, and the feminine yearning for connection will prevail!
  2. We are nurturers, often the family “glue” or the community go-to and we are moving toward a shift; one that will give us fulfillment in our lives - allowing us to be authentically who we are in all dimensions - but without the sacrifice that we suffer mentally and physically just to “succeed.” 
  3. We’re here to transform the collective epidemic of fear and self-doubt that hold women back into something extraordinary, pivotal, and life-altering in ways that we may not yet be able to envision. Trust is our friend here; our path as women is an emerging path and being comfortable with the unknown is key.
  4. We also have our own limiting beliefs inherited from personal circumstances, past traumas or fight-or-flight tendencies that keep us cycling in the same habitual patterns and put a cap on what we think is possible for ourselves. How can we break through the visible and invisible ceilings that hold us back from seeing with a limitless perspective?
  5. To compensate for all of this, we work twice as hard, gunning for perfection, "Hustling for Worthiness" as Brené Brown puts it - and we are our own worst critics. Ouch.

Here's what I know: We cannot wait for the culture to change in order to fully express ourselves as women. We need to change the culture by expressing ourselves first.

I invite you on this journey. Let’s re-imagine what’s possible, let’s change the way this works, and let’s create maximum benefit in our work and life in an authentic, meaningful way. It is time to emerge and we are here to support you on this path of self-actualization. This is work best done in community, creating a groundswell of feminine leadership that will transform our world - and humanity - for the better.
