Emerging Interfaces and the Future of Ergonomics
It seems these days that everything has a screen. Laptops, phones, watches, even household appliances now have screens as their main point of interaction with humans. But screens don't have the best track record when it comes to human health and comfort. Laptop neck, text thumb, tablet hand, (fridge...fingers?)—all of these are very real problems causing pain and discomfort for millions of people.
But, have you ever wondered what comes after the screen? With new technologies on the horizon such as augmented reality, there are new ways we may be interacting with digital content in the future. Could they be more human-centered and healthier for us?
If you're interested in this topic, come hear me speak at ErgoExpo this month on the panel titled Office Ergonomics Expert Panel: Tomorrow’s Technology Challenges and Solutions. Hope to see you there!
