Corporate Services provides courses and training based on client needs and industry demands. Our programs are designed to satisfy the needs of the companies we partner with and to increase the professional development of clients’ employees. These clients work in a variety of industries, including refining and manufacturing. Emergency Response Training (ERT) is one of the many types of training we provide to clients to train their employees and the rest of the public through open enrollment. Our ERT program consists of multiple courses that teach students about safety in the workplace and out in the field.?

A lot of our courses are taken by the same clients to train their newest employees. These courses are also taken as refreshers for employees whose jobs require a renewal of skill sets every so often. Students gain valuable hands-on experience when they go through these courses, such as our 16-Hour Trench Rescue course. This course prepares students to be a part of a rescue team to save a trapped worker in a collapsed ditch, learning necessary safety precautions and proper equipment usage. This course emphasizes special training in excavation and the safety of personnel during the shoring up of the sides of a trench.?

Structural Firefighting is another course our ERT program commonly provides to clients. A 24-hour course, Structural Firefighting teaches the skills students need to be a part of an industrial fire brigade. Students learn how to use proper safety equipment and demonstrate fire suppression techniques and rescue procedures. Students demonstrate these skills with a live burn tower on Del Mar College’s Windward Campus. Like Trench Rescue and the program’s other courses, Structural Firefighting is also taken as a refresher course.?

The ERT program is constantly evolving and shifting to industry demands. As our clients grow, we take the initiative to grow with them. With an expanding client base and advances in equipment, the ERT program works to keep up with the needs of multiple industries. This includes the current construction of structures for students to get the most out of the classes they attend and bringing in new props for them to use. These new structures and equipment will give students a simulation of what they experience in their respective fields, giving them the confidence to be successful at their job.?
