With emergency call outs on the rise, find out how playing a round of golf can help save lives across the South West.

In the first six months of 2024, our crew at Great Western Air Ambulance Charity have been?called out 1,159 times, an increase of around 21% from last year (1,159 v 958).

This means that we are set for a record year with a forecast of 400 extra call outs versus? last year. That’s an extra person we are being called out to every day on average.

How can a round of golf help?

On Friday 11 October, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity will be hosting our inaugural Corporate Golf Day at Minchinhampton Golf Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a great day of golfing with your colleagues, clients, suppliers and partners in aid of a Great (Western) charity!

All three club Captains have chosen GWAAC as their charity this year, and given us use of the Avening Championship course, that regularly hosts National and Regional championships and qualifiers. The course has beautiful views over Avening village and is a joy to play.

The day will start from 10am onwards (choose your tee off time when you book), breakfast and lunch will be provided along with the chance to put your skills to the test in our Beat the Pro and Putting competitions! We will also be hosting an online auction with some fabulous prizes and of course there will be plenty of social and networking opportunities throughout the day, including a chance to chat with our crew and see the helicopter (weather permitting!).

Four person teams from Porsche, EasyJet, Glencar, Hovis, Salocin Group and Altus Consulting already have their places, so do get your team together and get booking your spot.
