"It's been a long time coming, but I know change gonna come, oh yes it will."
Sam Cooke
You might have been wondering when will you get a break or experience a breakthrough! I know you have been dreaming, working and believing that things are going to be better. It can be frustrating to understand what is happening (or not) with the next moment or the next move.?The words of Sam Cooke’s song remind us that no matter change is going to come, whether we are ready or not even it is a long time coming. In life no progress or true success is possible without change; so you are encouraged to embrace change.?To embrace change is to transform your pain into purpose, impatience into impact, and your passion into possibilities.?This may come in many forms from tragedy, difficulty, disruption or upheavals and even opportunity.?How you respond to change will help determine, how you navigate the process of optimizing it.?For you to accomplish what you desire, your pursuits require shifts – in your perspective, outlook, belief and effort – significant change that brings discomfort. Be reminded, nothing grows in your comfort zone.
Change and growth are inexorable linked, and to experience the best life has to offer and uncover our best self, requires cathartic change. This means you know who you are, what you desire and what matters most. You know the journey is about focusing your energies on embracing the process, not resisting it. This you do by examining what’s holding you back – fear, friendships, relationships or the decadence of your environment – or a matter of fact, anything that is a hindrance to you accomplishing that break or breakthrough.
We always do not want to invite change in our lives, however it is inevitable, and its life constant gift – to not embrace or accept it, you stagnate.?Change is a constant, it happens around us. Nature provides the perfect backdrop with the seasons and that is evident daily, and there is nothing neither you nor I can do about the changes.?However, we can embrace it through how we prepare our mind, body, spirit and soul to respond; and see how you will evolve to welcome change as well.??Invite it in wholesomely, because your best self?‘is a long time coming, oh yes it is' and you will have the opportunity to believe, receive and manifest your break, breakthrough and your best self. A true life is lived when we make ourselves open to embrace change and I am reminded by Lao Tzu that “life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow…”?So how you do you prepare yourself to welcome and embrace change, here are a few suggested tips:
Learn – by choosing to embrace lessons about change. By learning to understand that it is an important aspect of life and living, then the nature of change becomes as a natural as life itself. The reality is that your experience and encounters are different, reveals that change is a necessity for you to experience your break or your breakthrough, or simply put, experience growth.
Shift Your Outlook - start by making minor changes to your daily habits, such as routines; go get a library card to do recreational reading, join a book club, take yourself out for an ice-cream, instead of purchasing it in the supermarket, travel to a country where you do not speak the language and try a new hobby or activity that you have never done before such as ballroom dancing or biking.
Change Audit – embracing change is a pathway to accepting growth in your life. If you can recall, you were once a child, a teenager and now an adult. Why not compile a list of happenings that have impacted your life.?How about starting with momentous occasions in your life, decisions you made and actions you took that were meaningful and with worthwhile outcomes. Make time to do a change audit journal to help you get to a place where you can begin to understand how you have been impacted by change, where you are, where you want to go and how to start embracing change.
Cultivate a Growth Mindset – by focusing on growth, you are able to embrace and adopt a mindset that while change is inevitable, it is also good for growth.?Seeing that change is constant, developing a mindset that you can learn from its occurrence, can foster a more holistic, productive and happier life.
Refresh and Reframe Your Narratives – by being conscious about the language you use, the words you speak, the attitude you adopt and the friendships you embrace.?By accepting the previous tips you can start refreshing your environment, with positive excerpts on change, being mindful of your words, bring a positive attitude and reframe the way you want to interact, innovate, learn and grow with friends, colleagues and family.
In embracing change, you will have a much easier transition in making better life choices by preparing yourself and open your heart and mind to deal with what's next! By choosing to do so, you are open yourself to experience life and encounters differently; and creating your breakthroughs with everything you have experienced and start aligning yourself begin to manifesting the best. When you embrace change, you also embrace who you are and allow yourself to discover the joys that come from living and embracing your best self. So embrace the winds of change, be buoyed by the currents of the wind and be prepared for the possibilities that change brings.
Know that the shifts in your life and the experiences today are creating the possibilities you dreamed of, worked for and seeing them manifested is your call to becoming more and being your best self. So embrace change, free yourself from fear and doubt, make manifest your desires and intentions to live your best life, be the best and give the best to others.
