As I close the books on another set of midterms, I find myself at the threshold of the reading week—a well-earned pause in the academic rush. It's more than a break from lectures; it's a time to recharge and reflect on the journey so far.
These past weeks have been a whirlwind of studying, a test of knowledge and endurance. But now, as I sit back in the newfound quiet, I realize that this is the time to take stock of not just my academic progress, but also my well-being. It's a moment to appreciate the hard work, the late nights, and the little victories along the way.
Being a Head TA and VP Internal of the CS Society has been a rewarding challenge. I've learned that leadership isn't just about guiding others, but also about finding strength within myself. It's about setting an example, not just in how to push through tough times, but also in how to step back and breathe.
Now, with a week of space, I want to inspire my fellow students to do the same. Let's use this time wisely—not just to catch up on reading, but to catch our breath. Let’s reflect on our achievements and plan our next steps. What new challenges do we want to take on? What new skills do we want to master?
Reading week is our time to inspire and be inspired, to nurture our minds and souls. It's a chance to look after our health, step outside, enjoy the fall air, or dive into a book for pleasure, not just study. As we rest and reflect, we prepare ourselves to return with a new perspective, ready to tackle the rest of the semester with vigor and vitality.
So here's to the power of pause. To the strength found in stillness. Let's embrace this reading week, not just as a break in our schedule, but as a catalyst for growth, well-being, and renewed determination.
