Embracing Our AI Monsters

This Halloween, we at RED-EYE are thrilled to unveil "MONSTERS?", an editorial featuring both still visuals and a fashion film. This project is a bold exploration of creativity at the edge, co-created with Artificial Intelligence. In this work, we venture into uncharted territory, embracing the fusion of light, code, and imagination to open a new chapter in fashion storytelling.

Throughout history, figures like Frankenstein, Moby-Dick, or King Kong have embodied our fears of the Other, fear of the unknown and the obsession with confronting something beyond human control. Today, that fear is projected onto AI, an entity that is both created by and outside of human control.

But at RED-EYE, we choose to celebrate the Other. We are creators, always reaching beyond the known, and now, with the collaboration of AI, we shape something both familiar and foreign.

The process is beautifully messy, full of glitches—moments where the line between reality and illusion blurs. Within these errors are AI’s own “hallucinations”—attempts to visualize fragments of our collective memory, the dreams of the machine shaped by human creators. These glimpses into the mind of AI reveal strange, fragmented beauty, a language that emerges from the mix of human input and machine interpretation. These glitches aren’t flaws; they are pathways to discovery, carrying beauty and new potential within them.

"MONSTERS?" challenges our fears and questions who the real monster is. Is it this new creation… or our fear of what we could become alongside technology? This project isn’t a threat—it’s an invitation. An invitation for human and AI to push beyond the limits, to create a future we couldn’t imagine alone.
