Embracing My Passion for Technology: A Journey Towards Becoming a Software Developer

Software Developer | Power Platform Functional Consultant | Entrepreneur | Team Builder
Ever since I can remember, computers and technology have been a huge part of my life. I've built my own computers and computers for friends to use in gaming. I built and ran a Linux machine on my home network, just to play with packet sniffers and other oddball tools. My natural affinity for everything tech goes back a long way. It has been an exciting journey, from advancing organizations during my Army service to teaching Soldiers how to use cutting-edge computer systems. In the process of delving deeper into this world, I'm taking the next step on my journey: becoming a programmer and software developer.
As a result of my constant commitment to learning, I have been able to develop my natural talents into more tangible skills over the last several years. I've learned to code using various programming languages and tool sets. I have programmed micro-controllers with various input/output peripherals, and I'm currently preparing to take the Security+ exam, a significant milestone in my technical journey.
Taking this leap into a new career path leaves me feeling nervous and apprehensive. My main concern has been the possibility that I may lose the passion I have for technology, turning my "hobby" into just another job. As a result of running The Escape Adventures for the past couple of years, I have gained confidence that my passion can endure the labors of mandated responsibilities.
