Embracing Love & Nurturing Spiritual Growth Together
Love and Healing Work
Cultivating Culturally Mindful, Healing, and Human-centered spaces.
Greetings, Beautiful Beings
“Love is the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another spiritual growth. Love is as love does. Love is an act of will—namely both an intention and action. Will implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love.” —Erich Fromm, quoted by bell hooks in All About Love: New Visions.
Bell hooks also reminds us: “To truly love, we must learn to mix various ingredients—care, affection, recognition, respect, commitment, trust, and honest and open communication.”
When we birthed Love and Healing Work, we weren’t yet guided by this definition of love. It wasn’t until reading All About Love that we felt the deep resonance of hooks’ vision—a definition that aligns with the love we’re inviting people to cultivate for themselves and others. This wisdom offers a profound call to action: for the world to choose love as an act of nurturing spiritual growth.
But how can we nurture spiritual growth when so much of life pulls us away from what matters? How can we show care, affection, recognition, respect, commitment, trust, and honest and open communication—not just when life feels light, but also in moments of heaviness? What does it look like to love yourself and others in alignment with bell hooks’ vision?
Why Love and Healing Work Exists
Love and Healing Work was created to cultivate spaces for people to connect, learn, reflect, and heal—together. It’s a place where those who nurture the spiritual growth of others can find nurturing themselves. Through Love and Healing Practices, we help individuals and organizations do great work without harming themselves or others—whether it’s in hiring, training, or conducting business.
On a personal note, this journey also began so I could provide for myself—buying cucumbers, alkaline water, and securing basic needs like shelter and transportation—while honoring my gifts. For the past ten years, I’ve worked to humanize systems and create culturally mindful, healing-centered spaces. Love and Healing Work celebrates nearly four years of this mission on June 1, 2025.
A Thank You and a Reflection
To everyone who has cared for me, respected me, shown me affection, and supported me—thank you. Your presence has been essential to my journey. Managing a business has, at times, taken me away from the practices that nurture my spirit, but it’s also deepened my understanding of what’s needed in the world.

Moving forward, I want to use my gifts to humanize systems further, to create policies and spaces that protect people from harm, and to nurture cultural mindfulness and healing. Whether through advocacy, event planning, or creating healing experiences, my goal remains to cultivate humane systems and spaces.
A Shift in Focus
To honor my spirit and practice what I teach, Love and Healing Work will now focus primarily on free and non-time-consuming platforms like LinkedIn, Mighty Networks, and YouTube. Please subscribe to our YouTube page even if you’re not on YouTube often. Our events will always be listed on Eventbrite. While sporadic social media posts will continue, my energy will center on doing the work—curating transformative experiences, shaping policies, and creating spaces that prioritize love and healing.
Join Us
I invite you to stay connected, attend events, hire us for transformative work, and share our mission with others. Most importantly, I invite you to pause and extend yourself for the purpose of nurturing your own spiritual growth.

Drink water and take care of yourself. I love you.
