Embracing Life’s Journey: Balancing Family and Business
Life is a journey, and the path we walk is ever-changing. Eight years ago, my world revolved around a newborn, twin two-year-olds, and a five-year-old. My focus was naturally on my children, and my business was just one part of my life. As any parent knows, those early years require so much of your time, energy, and heart. My business, while important, had to share the spotlight with the most significant role of all—being a mom.
As my children grew, the dynamics began to shift. Each year, I found myself with a little more room to breathe and a bit more time to dedicate to the business I love. The past three years, in particular, have been transformative. With my husband’s retirement, a new chapter opened for our family. His support allowed me to concentrate more on my business while knowing that the day-to-day needs of our children were well taken care of.
This journey has taught me that life’s seasons bring different priorities. I often hear from parents in my agency who feel apologetic for not being able to give their business their all at the moment. I want to tell them—and anyone else who might feel the same—that it’s okay. There will come a time when you can focus more on your business, and when that time comes, you’ll be ready to achieve anything you set your mind to.
