Embracing Learning and Gratitude: A Journey of Discovery and Growth

I am humbled and grateful to share the incredible learning journey I have embarked upon over the past few weeks. This experience has been filled with valuable lessons and a newfound appreciation for the power of knowledge and collaboration. As I reflect upon this journey, I am filled with gratitude and hope for the future.

Embracing the Unknown:

Entering into the annual strategic review for FY23, followed by the annual planning and budgeting process for FY24, I found myself in uncharted territory. With little prior understanding of the intricacies involved, I felt both excitement and trepidation. However, I quickly realized that this was an opportunity for growth and learning, a chance to expand my horizons and contribute to the collective vision.

With only nine months in this calling to serve the most vulnerable children; from the very beginning, there has been an unwavering yearning within me to fully comprehend and be engraved with the higher purpose of my calling here.

This burning desire to know and understand has propelled me forward, to knock, to seek, to search and these few past weeks have been an enlightening chapter in my pursuit of that understanding.

Discovering the Power of Information Sharing:

One of the most significant lessons I learned during this journey is the importance of information sharing platforms within an organization. Being a part of this process made it abundantly clear to me that information sharing platforms are not just beneficial but crucial to our growth and success as an organization. When individuals have the ability to tap into an organizations vision, understanding its mission and mandate; they can truly grasp the essence of their roles and contributions within the organization.

The power of shared knowledge can not be overstated for when people are equipped with a comprehensive understanding of an organizations goals, strategies and values, they become more than just mere employees; but instead become partners in driving the organization forward. The collective sharing of information fosters a sense of ownership and empowerment, enabling everyone to align their plans and actions with the overarching vision in mind.

Through information sharing, ideas flourish and innovation thrives, because when different perspectives converge and insights are freely exchanged, creativity blossoms, collaborative problem solving becomes a norm, resulting in robust and well informed decisions.

By cultivating an environment that encourages information sharing, we tap into the collective intelligence of our teams unlocking new opportunities for growth and success while fostering a culture of transparency and trust .

When we unite in solidarity, sharing our insights and plans aligned with the overarching vision, we propel the organization forward toward its goals. I am grateful for this newfound understanding and the power it holds for the future.

Recognizing the Strength of Diversity:

The concept of "one body and many parts" from the Bible resonated deeply with me. I realized that each individual possesses unique talents and strengths, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Through this experience, I have come to appreciate the beauty of diversity and the excellence that stems from embracing different perspectives.

When communication flows openly, everyone feels valued and included ,giving every voice a chance to be heard. I realized that knowing or unknowingly people feel more valued and respected when their opinions, concerns and ideas are heard and respected cultivating a sense of belonging which in turn enhances the overall effectiveness of an organization because true enough, diverse view points contribute to well rounded strategies and solutions.

Accepting the Wisdom of Stability:

Amidst the pursuit of change and innovation, I have also learned the value of stability and continuity. Sometimes, it is perfectly okay to let things be as they are if they make sense to everyone involved. By understanding the importance of discernment, we can avoid unnecessary disruptions and appreciate the wisdom of maintaining established practices.

This learning has given me a newfound sense of balance and appreciation for the power of tradition; valuing traditional methods while remaining open to new ideas and innovations - these are the foundations of progress and growth.

Looking Forward with Gratitude and Hope:

As I conclude this learning journey, I am filled with immense gratitude. I cannot claim to fully understand everything I sought initially, but I now possess a wealth of knowledge and insights that have equipped me for the path ahead. I am excited to take what I have learned and align myself, my work, and my outcomes with the collective plan. By doing so, I recognize the pivotal role I can play in communications, both as a strategic partner and an enabling department.

I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who supported me throughout this learning journey; to colleagues who went an extra mile to help me catch up when things were a bit accelerated, to the fire side chats that took place throughout the night, connecting us all to the past, the present and the future.

The lessons learned, the knowledge gained, and the connections made have enriched my professional growth in ways I could not have imagined. I am filled with hope for the future, eager to contribute my newfound understanding towards driving meaningful change to the success of our organization and the broader communities we serve.
