As the first light of dawn touches the sky, the Crone Goddess starts her day, emblematic of the diverse and often intricate paths we navigate in midlife. Many of us embody the essence of the 'sandwich generation,' adeptly balancing the roles of caregiving for both younger and older family members while also cultivating our personal and professional lives. Others, and I include myself here, may not have the traditional caregiving responsibilities but are nonetheless intricately weaving through the complexities of this life stage. We, as Crone Goddesses, find ourselves in a unique dance of managing multiple generations or focusing on our own evolution, each path demanding its own brand of strength and wisdom.


The 'sandwich generation' ?

The 'sandwich generation' is a term that encompasses a broad spectrum of experiences. For some, it involves the traditional role of caring for children and elderly parents simultaneously, a juggling act of love, duty, and endurance. For others, the challenge lies in navigating the middle years with different responsibilities - perhaps supporting community members, or directing energy towards personal growth and career ambitions. And then there are those among us who are doing it all: managing careers, personal aspirations, and the needs of both younger and older family members. Each scenario requires a unique blend of resilience, adaptability, and insight.
