Embracing Intuition: It's More Than Just Your Gut Talking to You

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending an interactive podcast, GwS Learning Lounge: Where Leaders Share, hosted by Grow with Satori’s principal coach and founder, Shanti Sharma. The guest for this session was Shraddha Subramanian, a business coach and India’s first intuition expert. What drew me to attend was Shraddha’s unique expertise in intuition and my growing interest in holistic growth and well-being. Looking back, it was a fantastic decision to join.

For me, leadership is about creating a lasting impact on people, uplifting, and empowering them. Yet, intuition, despite being a powerful motivator, was something I could never fully rely on, especially for business or financial decisions. My "gut feeling" intrigued me, but I never quite trusted it to handle the big stuff. It’s like asking your toddler who loves coloring to design a website – you’re curious, but you know it’s not the best idea.

Shraddha's session was truly enlightening! She explained how intuition plays a crucial role in decision-making, especially in leadership. Intuition helps us consider our gut feelings, emotions, and subconscious knowledge, leading to more informed and holistic decisions. It aids in assessing trustworthiness, recognizing unspoken cues, and understanding relationships. My biggest takeaway from the interactive podcast was that when stuck in complex challenges, intuition can offer valuable insights, enabling creative thinking, making connections, and considering alternative perspectives. It helps in identifying patterns, recognizing hidden solutions, and finding innovative approaches to problem-solving. It’s like having your own personal Sherlock Holmes in your brain, but you do not know about it!

As Shraddha shared her story and real-life examples, I began to see how often I had undervalued the role of intuition and energy in my development. I had always called it a "gut feeling" without fully understanding its origin or potential. Shraddha’s professional experiences illustrated the profound impact intuition can have on leadership and overall growth. Research suggests that intuition emerges from the brain's ability to process and integrate vast amounts of information at a subconscious level – who knew our brains were so busy?

With this newfound awareness from the podcast, I am now able to harness this inner energy not just for the smooth execution of tasks but also in my role as a partner, sister, mother, daughter and professional. This understanding is leading me to make more mindful and confident decisions, contributing to my motto of holistic development in ways I never knew were missing. Who knew that listening to my gut could be so enlightening?

Thanks to Grow with Satori for providing a platform to explore and appreciate the importance of intuition and energy in leadership and overall growth. This is a stepping-stone towards integrating intuition into my professional life, making me a more effective and empathetic leader looking forward to continuing this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

You know how people always say, 'Follow your heart'? Basically, it’s just a fancy way of saying, 'Listen to your gut.' But honestly, the real struggle is figuring out when to actually trust it! It takes a hell of a lot of courage to trust your intuition and go for it, especially when you're low-key terrified it might flop. At the same time it’s kind of funny when you start doubting your own thoughts, like, if I can’t trust myself, who else can I? Great read by Ishita Mukherjee definitely got me thinking!

An interesting read; enjoyed every bit of it??

Well articulated post, Ishita Mukherjee! I personally liked your comparison of intuition-based decisions to seeking guidance from a curious child. Congratulations on your first LinkedIn article! We all have an inner voice guiding our decisions. Harnessing that inner voice, call it intuition or gut-feeling or wisdom built on a repertoire of experiences as I would like to look at it, will help us think through our choices more deeply.
