?? Embracing Integrity and Speaking Out: A September to Remember ??
Greetings,
In the wise words of M. Scott Peck, "A calling to be an individual of integrity means is a calling to speak out, to be outspoken." This sentiment captures the essence of my mission here at OutSpoke'In Women—amplifying women's voices through freedom and boldness. As we ride into the vibrant energies of September, let's commit to raising our voices and standing firmly in our truths without allowing our egos to dominate the other.
??? Riding into Resilience: How Motorcycle Adventures Enhance Our OutSpoke'In Journey
Incorporating my passion for motorcycle riding into my life isn't just a hobby—it's a vital part of my mental health regimen. The thrill of the ride, the sense of community among bikers and the strangers we meet along the way, and the sheer joy of exploring new terrain remind us that taking the road less traveled can often lead to the most rewarding destinations.
Whatever your hobbies or work environments are, being in a community offers the opportunity to do what you love and be a peacemaker as you participate in the rules of community-making. The more variety in the group, the more opportunities there are to listen and learn from each other. True community is ultimately an adventure in which we focus our energy on being peaceful and loving and remaining inclusive rather than against it.
Self-control and equanimity at high speeds are key to safety for yourself and your crew.
? August Highlights: Lessons from SHRM and the Grief Conference ?
Last month, I was privileged to speak at two influential events: the Southern CT SHRM HR Professional Development Summit and Law Symposium and the first-ever National Grief Awareness Day Professional Development Conference in CT. Here are just three key ideas I shared with my audiences and will hopefully inspire you:
The Power of Community and Connection: Our grief session emphasized acknowledging and owning our personal stories. We highlighted how the chapters of our lives, whether marked by joy or sorrow, shape our identities and resilience. Our volunteers shared tales that foster understanding and healing, personally and within our communities.
Strength is found in community, where connecting with others through shared experiences can provide support and facilitate healing. This ties back to resilience, where social support is a crucial buffer against life's challenges.

Our narratives of personal scars told of becoming adults, overcoming adversity, and finding redemption through resilience could be profound lessons for others. The session brought out themes of survival, the search for meaning, and the transformative power of facing life's darkest moments with courage.
Innovative Problem-Solving in HR Collaboration
In my session at the SHRM conference, I shared how, during some of the most challenging periods of my life, thinking quickly and embracing unconventional paths were crucial for navigating through adversity. This lesson translates directly into the HR realm, especially when it comes to collaboration.
In today's fast-paced work environment, HR professionals must foster a culture where innovative thinking is encouraged and where collaborative efforts are directed toward solving complex problems creatively. Just as I learned to adapt and find new solutions under pressure, HR teams can use innovative recruitment technologies and AI-driven tools to enhance decision-making. This approach improves hiring quality and ensures that the workforce remains agile and capable of overcoming unexpected challenges together.
