Embracing Gratitude and Presence This Thanksgiving

As the holiday season approaches, do you feel the rush starting to creep in? ??♀? That familiar flurry of to-dos, schedules, and expectations that seems to pull you in every direction but here and now?
It’s easy to lose sight of the heart of the holidays when we’re overwhelmed with planning, prepping, and making everything "perfect." But deep down, I think we all long for something simpler. We crave moments that feel like they matter—where we can pause, breathe, and truly connect with the people who mean the most to us.
Sound familiar?
If you’re nodding along, you’re not alone.
?? The truth is, gratitude and presence can transform how we experience the holidays.
Gratitude isn't just a feel-good exercise—it’s a shift in mindset that changes how we engage with life. When we take time to notice what we’re thankful for, it grounds us. It pulls us out of the chaos and helps us appreciate what’s in front of us. And when we pair that gratitude with being present, we create space for connection, joy, and fulfillment—things we often chase but rarely stop to savor.
Why Gratitude and Presence Matter (Now More Than Ever)
Think about the last time you had a holiday gathering. How much of it did you actually experience? Or was your mind running through a mental checklist of things you needed to do next?
When we’re not present, we miss the magic. That giggle from your child as they sneak a bite of pie, the warmth of a heartfelt hug, or even the beauty of a table filled with the people you love. Being present lets us take these moments in. It’s where joy lives, not in the hustle or the planning, but in the little things we often overlook.
And gratitude? That’s the secret sauce. When we reflect on what we’re thankful for, it softens our stress and brings clarity to what truly matters. It’s not about having a picture-perfect holiday. It’s about celebrating what’s already here—imperfect and beautiful in its own way.
Making This Thanksgiving Count
This year, what if you gave yourself permission to focus less on doing and more on being?
Imagine how it would feel to truly connect at the dinner table, to laugh without checking your phone, or to sit quietly for a moment and let the gratitude wash over you. Gratitude has a way of amplifying the good in our lives, reminding us of what’s steady and certain when everything else feels overwhelming.
And the beauty of it? Gratitude doesn’t require grand gestures. It’s in the little things—the smile of a loved one, the warmth of a cozy meal, or the simple joy of being together.
A Thanksgiving to Remember
This week, let’s commit to creating moments that matter. Moments where we’re fully present, sharing stories, making memories, and cherishing the connection we crave all year long.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what Thanksgiving is about—not the perfect turkey or the pristine table setting, but the gratitude that brings us closer to ourselves and each other.
?? I’d love to hear from you: What’s one thing you’re grateful for this Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to celebrate with you.

Personal Note From Mary Louise:
I've been there... Trying to do all the things for everyone and feeling exhausted and spent at the end of the day because I was too busy taking care of everyone else.
I remember catching my reflection in the mirror and seeing muscle tone continuing to deplete and knowing I wasn't doing anything to combat it. I was able to figure out a way for myself to integrate all health aspects of nutrition, fitness and mindset which ignited my passion to help others.
Through my coaching I enjoy helping others gain momentum and create transformation for themselves.
