At 79 years old, I have rekindled the spark of excitement I felt decades ago when I was first introduced to the world of personal computer technology.
This time, however, my enthusiasm centers around artificial intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT, a powerful language model that has opened up new realms of possibility for me and everyone else on the planet.
It takes me back to 1983, a pivotal year in my career as a marketing manager, when I first encountered personal computers. That moment was transformative — not just for me but for the industry I was working in as a whole, ushering in an era of digital databases that revolutionized how businesses managed customer information.
Back then, a consultant introduced my team and me to the concept of digital databases. I immediately related it to my Rolodex — a physical collection of potential customers, clients, service recipients and proposal recipients. This new technology offered a streamlined, efficient way to manage vast amounts of data, something that manual systems could not compete with. The impact was profound and set me on a lifelong journey of embracing and utilizing technology to enhance my professional and personal life.
Over the years, I’ve kept pace with technological advancements, always eager to explore new tools and platforms. This curiosity has earned me a reputation as a “techie,” someone who eagerly anticipates the release of the latest gadgets, like the next iPhone.
So, when I was introduced to AI and ChatGPT, it felt like a natural progression in my ongoing quest to understand and leverage technology.
“When I was introduced to ChatGPT, it reminded me of my initial encounter with personal computers,” I often say. “I began to question its potential: If it can do that, can it do this? And this? And this?”
This inquisitive mindset has been a cornerstone of my approach to technology, always seeking to understand and utilize new tools to their fullest potential.
My career is a testament to my belief in the power of technology and communication. As a recognized speaker and presenter in the trade show industry for four decades, a 12-year member of Toastmasters, and the developer of a public speaking and presentation course, I’ve consistently leveraged my skills to educate and inspire others.
I wrote the book “Google Something Every Day” to introduce seniors to the vast resources available online, helping them navigate a world of information, education and entertainment.
Now, with the advent of AI and ChatGPT, I am once again on a mission to educate. I’ve developed an online Zoom workshop aimed at introducing people to these technologies, especially those who might feel intimidated or overwhelmed by their complexity. “AI and ChatGPT for Beginners” is designed to demystify these tools, showing participants how they can be used to enhance everyday life.
ChatGPT, for instance, offers numerous applications that can simplify and enrich our daily routines. For busy professionals, it can draft emails, create reports and even generate creative content, saving valuable time. Imagine being able to delegate the task of drafting a complex business proposal or writing a newsletter to an AI assistant. This not only increases efficiency but also allows professionals to focus on more strategic aspects of their work.
? For Seniors: ChatGPT can serve as a digital companion, providing not only information but also entertainment and engagement with the past, present and future. It can help them explore new hobbies, such as creative writing, by offering prompts and feedback. It can also assist in staying connected with loved ones, helping to compose heartfelt messages or even offering tech support for navigating new devices and apps.
? For Education: ChatGPT is a powerful tool for students of all ages. It can serve as a tutor, explaining complex concepts in subjects like mathematics, science and history. It can help with homework, provide summaries of lengthy texts, and even assist in learning new languages by acting as a conversational partner. This accessibility to personalized learning support can be a game-changer for students, particularly those in remote or underserved areas.

? For Health and wellness: ChatGPT can make a significant impact. It can provide information on healthy diet and exercise, answer questions about symptoms and treatments, and even offer guided meditation sessions.
If you are already using ChatGPT this workshop is not for you.
My one-hour workshop is for beginners and specifically emphasizes practical, hands-on learning. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and ideas, exploring how ChatGPT can be tailored to their unique needs and interests. Whether it’s writing assistance, language learning or simply answering questions, the workshop aims to unlock the potential of this versatile tool. My passion for teaching is evident as I share my knowledge, ensuring that technology becomes accessible and empowering for all.
7-days of FREE support after the workshop is included in case attendees have questions.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to get acquainted with these technologies in a supportive and engaging environment. Whether you’re a tech novice or someone looking to expand your digital toolkit, this workshop offers valuable insights and practical skills that can enhance your daily life.
In a world where technology often feels like it’s moving at breakneck speed, my approach is a refreshing reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new. My journey with AI and ChatGPT is not just a personal exploration — it’s an invitation for others to join me in discovering the possibilities that lie ahead.
As I continue to share my knowledge and experiences, I exemplify the idea that — with curiosity and an open mind — anyone can become a lifelong learner and embrace the future.
