Embracing Flexible Work Hours
For the last several years, I have been a remote worker. I thrive better in a remote environment. During those years, I have been able to have flexible working hours. I've been able to run to the store pick something up and come back... Step away for remote therapy and come back... Drop my dogs off at the groomers and come back. There is a lot of trust that comes with working remotely. BUT, I am a high performer-I always have been. I might need to step away during the day for a few hours, but I make it up and I always come out on top!
Why is flexible work hours important?
Well, some individuals might work better at a certain time of day. I personally work best post 10 am. Folks might need to take care of their kids...etc
BUT....
With more control over their time, employees have a greater sense of freedom to complete work tasks and still take care of their own personal responsibilities.
Employees who have flexible work schedules often feel more highly valued by their companies. When your company offers flexible work arrangements, it can demonstrate that they care about not only your job performance, but also your mental and emotional well-being. If you feel valued and supported by your company, you might feel more interested in staying with the company long-term.

1 年Being a 100% disabled veteran, I have a lot of medical appointments to deal with throughout the year. It’s really tough being on a 9 - 5 schedule Mon - Fri. I feel like all my time off is just used up for the hours missed, so planning vacation time is practically impossible. My last vacation was a year ago, and that was because I was unemployed. Now I don’t have time, no PTO, and little to no sick time left. I’d absolutely love more flexibility.
