As we celebrate Black History Month, it's crucial to recognise the invaluable contributions of diverse voices in shaping a sustainable future. Today, I'm thrilled to announce the coming launch of our video series, The Colour of Your Voice, a three-part conversation between three women who may seem to come from different backgrounds but as we discover our experiences in life often overlap in surprising ways.

Why Diversity Matters in Sustainability

Sustainability is not just about environmental stewardship; it's about creating equitable systems that benefit everyone. The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasise the importance of inclusivity and equality as foundational elements for global progress. By amplifying diverse voices, particularly those from historically marginalised communities, we can uncover unique insights and solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.

‘The Colour of Your Voice’ is an honest, open and frank conversation between three highly accomplished women two of which are black and one white.? We highlight how our experiences although the same can turn out so different depending on? ‘The Colour of Your Voice’?

Each episode offers a powerful conversation and exploration that underscores the connection between personal journeys and The Colour of Your Voice.

Why did it take so long to come out!

As co-creator of the Centre for Sustainable Action and a mother of three multicultural children I was devastated to learn that Dilys Sillah 's little girl was scared to go to school back in 2020 after the infamous Italy V England football match. She was scared she would be called a monkey, as I watched a mother pour out her anger, rage and tears on a 1 hour FaceBook live I wanted to do something.?

We are blessed to have some amazing people in our network like Lovelda Vincenzi , an accomplished TV presenter and MC so I reached out and asked if there was something we could do.

It was around the time of the George Floyd murder and there were many male voices out there like Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen's podcast Renegades: Born in the USA but no white and black women sitting down and having a frank, open and honest conversation. So we hired a studio and created ‘The Colour of Your Voice’ . I wanted to release this series then but I wanted to release it far and wide, but I had a start-up founders' budget, I felt like I could not do it the justice it deserved.
