As we say goodbye to January, I've found real value in embracing change and reinvention, especially in public speaking and teaching. This part of my work brings me great joy as I encourage my business students to share and present their ideas actively, pushing them beyond their comfort zones.
Public speaking might seem daunting to them, but it's a skill that will pay off massively in their confidence and self-belief and in building rapport with others.
I'm particularly excited about this week's meet-up of The Growth B2B Network in Newry, where we'll host the remarkable Michelle Lestas . Her journey in business leadership is nothing short of inspiring, and I can't wait to soak in the wisdom she'll share.
On a personal note, my consulting journey took a sharp turn late last year. I stepped away from LinkedIn training, realising the market was too crowded, and found a new direction.
Sometimes, the best opportunities are right before us, and these last several months, I've concentrated more on my role as an introducer and leveraging my network to make high-value business introductions.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still involved in a little bit of digital marketing consulting, and I do some business mentoring on the side. However, what really excites me is focusing more on building this particular aspect of my business. It's a unique space, especially here on the island of Ireland.
With my extensive global network and proven track record of closing deals, I am excited to explore this opportunity further. I am confident that we can build upon the success we have already achieved and take this venture to new heights.
This shift has been rewarding, with significant progress and exciting projects at The Growth Company . But it's taught me one thing above all: patience is key.
Big deals take time, and while I'm balancing lecturing, running The Growth B2B Network , my board roles at the British and Irish Trading Alliance (BITA) and my new role on the supervisory committee at Newry Credit Union , I'm reminded that good things come to those who wait.
So, as we push forward, remember – that the best results often need time to brew. Here's to patience, progress, and the great things we can achieve together.
