Embracing Awareness To Thrive During Unprecedented Times
It is very easy to lose sight and vision of life amidst chaos and #uncertainty. The #threat of losing your job, fear of the future, feeling disappointed due to failure of an idea or #engagement, risk of underperformance at work – all of this is enough to cloud your #awareness, which can block hope and possibilities for the future. This is what happened with Arjuna on the battlefield of Mahabharata. His awareness was clouded with perplexity, confusion, doubt, helplessness and hopelessness as he had to fight against those people whom he grew up with. This is where Krishna helped him to tune into his awareness and understand the fact, “You grieve for those who are not to be grieved for; and yet you speak words of wisdom! The learned do not grieve neither for the deceased nor for the livingâ€. He made him understand that Arjuna’s fight is not against his teachers, friends or relatives, but the fight is for establishing and upholding the philosophy of dharma. Krishna helped Arjuna pivot from his self-pity and remorse mode to sovereign-self that helped him operate from the place of awareness and behold this war through a bigger perspective – Honouring the Dharma and the Light.
So, what exactly this Awareness is all about? It is the state of being #conscious of one’s own self. It helps you to know who you are, where you are, and what you represent to yourself and others. It fuels #courage to undertake bold decisions during Crisis. Instead of approaching a “tried and tested†way of problem-solving, awareness endorses a creative approach to the same. Said differently, awareness offers clarity, confidence, creativity, better decision-making, stronger relationships, and facilitates effective communication.
When we are constantly involved in the chatter of the world around us, we cannot hear the sound of our soul, we cannot hear what our emotions are trying to say. It is the awareness that can come to our rescue to help us operate from the place of creation and possibilities, instead of reaction. The biggest of decisions can be taken without anxiety through awareness.
However, we cannot experience the power of awareness without silence. Silence will help you develop the ability to connect with yourself in a beautiful way where awareness is given. It is this awareness that will help you to attract the answers you need. Start with these simple tools to inculcate silence and awareness in your daily life:
1. Talk less & observe more. The one who observes, and learns things at a microscopic level.

2. Build the willpower to experience something new, and in that willingness, practice Silence every day.
3. Allow Silence to gradually go from a monkey mind state to ease. Be patient with the process.
4. Practice Mindfulness. The job of mindfulness is to make us come back into the present moment. Mindfulness can be practiced anywhere (home or office) and any time of the day.
