Embracing 0.0: Striving for continuous improvement and an update on my personal transformation journey

Over the years, like most of us, I’ve faced countless challenges—from co-founding, and the ups and downs of running a business for nearly two decades to leading a team through significant technical challenges, staff mental health and wellbeing, and a business transformation. These experiences taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.

Today, I want to share an update on my personal transformation journey, highlighting three key areas where small but effective habit changes have made a big impact: regular exercise, a healthy diet, and achieving 100 days of 0.0 alcohol.

1. Regular Exercise ???♂?

I’ve always known the value of staying active, and for many years played & coached competitive soccer, but over the last 12+ months, I’ve taken my commitment to fitness to a new level. I’m hitting the gym 3 to 4 times a week, with a balanced routine that includes spin classes for cardio, weightlifting for strength, and core exercises for stability. The result? I feel as fit and strong as I did in my early twenties. This renewed physical fitness and strength has not only boosted my energy levels but also my confidence and overall well-being.

2. A Healthier Diet ???

To fuel my regular exercise routine, I’ve made it a priority to focus on a healthy diet. I’ve rediscovered the joy of cooking, crafting meals rich in protein, including lots of fresh vegetables, rice, and pasta to keep energy levels high. But the real game-changer has been my new favourite breakfast—overnight oats.

Overnight Oats Recipe:

  • Uncle Tobys (Traditional) oats (1 cup)
  • Sunflower seeds (1/3 cup)
  • Pumpkin seeds (1/3 cup)
  • Black chia seeds (1/3 cup)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • Chobani vanilla no-sugar yogurt (1 heap table spoon)
  • Frozen blueberries (1 cup)
  • A cube of frozen passionfruit

Mix all together and make a batch on Sunday, store in the fridge and enjoy 5 or 6 spoonful’s each morning to kick-start your day! If you haven’t tried overnight oats yet, trust me, you’re missing out. DM me if you want more info ??

3. 100 Days of 0.0 Alcohol ????

One of the most significant changes I’ve made is going 0.0—completely alcohol-free—for over 100 days now. The benefits have been profound: enhanced physical health, strengthened personal relationships, sharpened mental clarity and focus, a deep sense of achievement, and a clearer vision for the future.

With a clear mind, a healthy lifestyle and a focus on continuous improvement, I approach the future with renewed purpose. I can set and pursue goals with confidence, knowing that I have the resilience and focus to overcome whatever challenges lie ahead.
