#EmbraceEquity

March was an opportunity to celebrate diversity and shine a light on the incredible achievements and contributions of women around the world.

On International Women’s Day last month, we had an opportunity to listen and learn from some of the women at OpenText about their previous experiences of inequality. We thank them for their bravery and boldness in sharing their personal stories.

Women encounter barriers to equity every single day, and we must continue to work together to build a workplace where everyone knows that they belong and where everyone can succeed.

Hear their stories below.

Bringing cognizance to the forefront

Our own, Kristina L. ,?Executive Vice President, Corporate Sales caught up with the folks at AWS Marketplace to share how she has overcome challenges in her career and provides her advice for women seeking to grow as leaders in the tech industry.?

Equity is not the same as Equality

Mark J. Barrenechea , our CEO and CTO, also shared his thoughts on the importance of International Women’s Day.?

Commenting on this year’s theme, Mark said that “equity is not the same as equality. Equity is about being fair and impartial. Equity seeks to change the societal systems that actively disadvantage and marginalize groups.”?

At OpenText, our culture is grounded in a strong belief in equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are committed to creating an environment where all voices are heard and where we unlock the passion of our valued colleagues in the content of our business.

As part of this commitment, we’re aiming to have 50/50 gender parity within key roles and 40% women in leadership positions at all management levels by 2030.

Find out how we’re supporting women and embracing equity at OpenText in Mark’s blog, here.

To top it off, we’re proud to share that OpenText ranked on The Globe and Mail’s 2023 Women Lead Here list that identifies top-notch Canadian businesses with the highest executive gender diversity — a testament to our efforts to achieve our Zero Barrier goals of 50/50 gender parity in key roles and 40% women in leadership positions by 2030.
