Embrace that which makes us stronger

Those that know me know that it's rare I post about anything unrelated to proposals. But this morning I awoke as a citizen of Greater Manchester shocked and appalled by the news.
The events leading up to a terror attack at 2230 will unfold over the next few days, but we know now that children will be included in the fatality list. These attacks are deplorable and can never be justified.
Manchester, like so many cities around the world that have suffered like it, has shown incredible spirit of community in the last 12 hours. And it will continue to do so. Manchester is an ethnically and culturally diverse city and it's with pride that I can show my children a community coming together, rather than just scenes of horror.
To the point of my post: The news makes me realise how truly thankful I am to work with such a diverse and talented group of colleagues. Every day I speak to individuals across continents and countries, faiths, beliefs and lifestyles. And I realise how much I learn from each and every one of them every day.
That which makes us different, makes us stronger.
Please: take a moment today to appreciate a colleague who believes something different to you. Listen to them, hear them and work together to find a solution that benefits everyone. In this, we all become better.
