Embrace Perimenopause: Your Unexpected Bestie in the Adventure of Menopause Transition.

Have you ever considered that perimenopause could be an unexpected friend on this transformative journey, bringing along its distinctive characteristics and symptoms?

That’s right, you got it! It’s a significant phase of preparation for our menopause journey. Embracing the changes it brings can enhance our hormonal well-being.

My personal experience has been like this!

Perimenopause caught me off guard in my late 30s, causing mood swings, chronic fatigue, and digestive issues.

Despite my initial discomfort, I brushed off my symptoms as mere stress.

However, the constant arrival of unfamiliar symptoms and the mysterious weight gain, despite my active lifestyle, compelled me to confront the unknown. Initially, I felt uneasy, ignorant, and ill-equipped, but this stranger perimenopause transformed into an unexpected ally, guiding my growth and resilience.

I started understanding and accepting the changes in my body.

I learned how crucial self-love is and made a conscious effort to include activities that brought me joy in my daily schedule. In addition, I took the initiative to learn more about the Peri 2 Post menopause transition, practiced mindfulness, and empowered myself with positive self-talk, affirmations, and manifestations.

While practicing visualization techniques, I reimagined menopause as an engaging book with unexpected turns and moments of anticipation, allowing me to perceive this experience as a journey of growth and transformation rather than one of discomfort.?

By embracing self-care and a sense of adventure, I discovered a powerful ally in perimenopause, as it motivated me to prioritize preventive wellness.

I made a conscious effort to take care of every aspect of my wellbeing.

What amazed me the most was that by adopting this proactive approach, not only did my symptoms go away, but I also saw a gradual boost in my overall health and energy levels.

As I reached my late forties, I started feeling better than I ever had before.

And just like that, “Menopause” appeared, defying myths and dispelling all misconceptions without any dramatics.

Similar to the last chapter of my imaginary book, menopause marks the end of one phase but opens the door to a world of self-discovery, freedom, and countless new opportunities.

I’ve never experienced such a strong sense of well-being in both my mind and body as I do now. By embracing perimenopause with a positive mindset and an open heart, I was able to navigate the transition to menopause more smoothly.?

Like me, I hope we all change our perspective and recognize perimenopause as a loyal companion on our hormonal journey. Mindfully paying attention to our symptoms and responding in a timely manner is important.

My bestie perimenopause taught me two important lessons:

1) Self-care goes beyond just a pamper day

It’s about practicing mindfulness towards our bodies, comprehending our needs, and deliberately opting for actions that foster our physical, emotional, and mental health.

Making self-care a priority every day is crucial throughout the menopause journey. This includes activities like meditation, yoga, cardio coupled with weight bearing exercises, healthy eating, sufficient sleep, finding joy, and doing essential medical tests periodically.

2) Awareness, Acceptance, and Action are the three essential keys.

Staying alert to our symptoms, seeking timely guidance from professionals, and joyfully embracing the shifts that happen during this life stage is of utmost importance.

By consciously tending to ourselves with a positive mindset, we alleviate symptoms and enhance our general well-being.?

We can change our experience of menopause by embracing each stage as a trusted companion, letting it lead us with grace and strength, giving us the power to shape our journey on our own terms.?

This beautiful phase of life should be celebrated, not dreaded

Just like pregnancy is viewed as a miraculous journey, menopause is a powerful transition filled with wisdom and strength.

Society may have painted menopause in unwanted colors, but it's time to defy these prejudices.

Let's openly flaunt this life stage with pride! Menopause signifies a new chapter, a time when we have overcome challenges and grown wiser.

It's a badge of honor, showcasing the resilience and beauty that come with age.

Embrace menopause - you are a warrior, a beacon of light for all to follow. ??

Never lose your sparkle and always keep in mind that the most surprising places can hold the happiest endings.

One of the key aspects of this transition is switching on a laser focus on heart health & bone health spurred by rapidly diminishing estrogen levels. Women’s heart issues are often missed/ dismissed by us ourselves & bone health becomes a visible issue only in 60s when the aches & pains set in. While it’s never too late to change things then, the pain & costs are high while some damage may already be done. While many are advised hormone replacement during peri menopause, there simply isn’t enough on the daily new habits that one needs to inculcate to prevent vs suffer. We don’t see what’s coming in our 30s & 40s. We still feel invincible! Thanks for shining the spotlight on perimenopause. Lovina Gidwani
