The rise of social commerce forms a very interesting aspect of the conversation in the article, its the democratisation of social commerce that is of value to us. Today, I can run an office on my mobile with social media at hand. But I am still scared of buying on social media, I prefer Amazon, but if Gartner says it, I have no doubt it is the future and, in any case, the text, on social commerce is meant for Gen-Z. Just today, I was with a client who wants Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn integration into our marketing effort, selling on these platforms is easier than selling on Amazon, Flipkart etc. There is: 1. Peer pressure at work. 2. Personalization at work. 3. Platform credibility at work. But we as marketers, how do we sell on these platforms, it shocks me to see a Thar for sale on Facebook marketplace, so: 1. Should we start with smaller products? 2. Should we have catalogues ready? 3. Is there scope for training in this industry? 4. Videos will obviously play a part, how do we make small sized videos? All these questions and many more that can't be put immediately need to be answered.
