Never shy away from having a difficult conversation with your team member.
No matter how uncomfortable it gets you must face the situation and call out whatever is causing the conversation.
Growth lies on the opposite side of that conversation.
You need to pass through the discomfort to get to comfort.
I have had to do this multiple times in business and life.
And trust me it was not easy for me in my early days.
I was raised to shy away from these situations.
In fact I was raised to blame myself for the situation regardless of my role in it.
But as a business owner your job is to have the tough conversations with your team whenever required.
It may not always be when things are going bad, sometimes things get stuck, sometimes, things are good and everyone gets complacent.
Growth lies on the other side of these conversations because they are an opportunity for everyone to grow together through the pain of the conversation itself.
Tough conversations are the gateway to deeper understanding within a team.

They bring the opportunity of facing tough situations and coming out with solutions if done right.
Or they lead to expediting difficult decisions that you have been avoiding.
Tough conversations doesn’t mean they are negative conversations.
That’s what society wants us to believe.
Tough conversations are tough because they have been avoided for way too long and the longer that happens the tougher they get.
Business owners shy away from them because they hope that the situation will disappear magically without them having to do the heavy lifting.
That rarely happens.
What does happen is that the situation gets tougher and tougher and instead of having a tough conversation that might lead to a positive result it leads to an unfavourable situation.
Running a business is a messy job because business owners have to deal with people day-in and day-out.
The faster you develop your muscle to have the difficult conversations the faster you can keep moving forward.
Your business is not stuck. Communication is.
