Now, I want to address the impact social media has on our business, our credibility and authenticity and how we need to take centre stage in this medium.

Before I get into this, I think it would be helpful to define what I mean by Credibility and Authenticity.
Credibility is the quality of being trusted and believed in.
Authenticity is demonstrating precisely why you should be trusted and believed in.
It connects with my adage -Don’t tell me what you do. Tell me what you have done for others.

You must tell and support those stories with facts and the personal impact this has had on your clients, colleagues, and customers.

So, how does this tie into using social media? It enhances your online presence in a cost-effective way.
It acknowledges a marketing principle developed by Professor John Dawes of the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute. It states that only 5% of potential customers are ready to buy at any given time. The other 95% are "out-of-market" and not ready to purchase.
This means that if your focus is on pitching and selling to your target market, it falls on deaf ears.
So, how do you use social media so that when people are ready to buy, they come to you?
