Embrace The Aloha Spirit: Working In Hawaii With Hilton Grand Vacations

When you picture Hawaii, you likely imagine the islands’ natural beauty — pristine beaches, crystal-blue water and lush landscapes. With such a picturesque backdrop, you may not be surprised to discover that Hawaii is the healthiest state in the United States. The physical environment plays a role, of course. But Hawaii also has low mortality rates, quality healthcare and overall positive well-being for both its residents and visitors.

If you’re still unsure whether Hawaii is for you, we spoke to a few Hilton Grand Vacations Team Members working on the Big Island. Besides outstanding health outcomes, here are three reasons our Team Members love working and living in Hawaii.

Hilton Grand Vacations has properties across the Hawaiian islands — including the Big Island, Oahu, Maui and Kauai — each nestled in paradise.

Cheree N., guest services manager at Ocean Tower, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, said, “My favorite part about working in Hawaii is that we work in paradise. We have beautiful weather year-round. We can go to the beach before or after work to catch some waves or watch the sunset. It’s just a great place to live.”

“What more can I say?” she added, gesturing to the palm-lined vistas beside her.

“What I like most about Hawaii are the world-class beaches, the culture, the food, the environment and the weather. It’s wonderful,” said Ryan F., assistant manager of marketing in Waikoloa. “I was raised in Oregon, but my grandmother is Hawaiian-Chinese, so Oahu has always been my second home. It’s a great place to work and live.”

There are plenty of opportunities to grow your career in Hawaii, especially with Hilton Grand Vacations. Courtney V., recreation coordinator at Kings’ Land, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, has worked with Hilton Grand Vacations for over a year. “I started as a pool attendant, then got promoted to coordinator. So, when I think of Hilton Grand Vacations, I think of growth. There’s so many opportunities to move up or even laterally.”

Cheree also had plenty to say about the potential for growth at Hilton Grand Vacations. “My favorite part about working here is that Hilton Grand Vacations is an exciting company to work for. I started in 2013 at Kings’ Land. Since then, both the company and I have grown. I’ve had the opportunity to take on new roles during my career. With new destinations added, there’s even more opportunity worldwide.”

“If I had to describe Hilton Grand Vacations in one word, it would be ‘aloha,’” said Jordan H., a bartender at Kings’ Land. “This property has that spirit. Our Members and Guests are on vacation, so there’s a loving, kind feeling that surrounds everyone. And at the bar, we make sure that continues to grow.”

Jordan isn’t the only one who comments on the feel-good spirit. “My favorite thing about working in Hawaii is the common love of Hawaii with everyone we meet and work with,” said Ryan H., engineering manager at Ocean Tower. “Everyone treats each other and Hawaii with respect and dignity. I was born and raised in Hawaii and am now fortunate enough to work here, so it’s a wonderful feeling to share a love of Hawaii’s spirit.”

Besides sharing the aloha spirit with Members and Guests, Team Members in Hawaii also volunteer in their communities through HGV Serves, demonstrating their love of the islands and their people.

If you’re ready to live and work in paradise, discover new opportunities and be part of a supportive team, it’s time to start your career with Hilton Grand Vacations.
