Many of us are setting resolutions to improve ourselves and our work ??

At Mint, one of our New Year's resolutions is to continue making our content more accessible.??

How do we plan to achieve this? We're changing our attitude towards accessibility by viewing it as a creative challenge and debunking the myth that an accessible course can't be interactive or visually engaging.?

How can this mindset benefit the learner experience????

• Considering accessibility as a creative challenge encourages developers to find creative solutions that enhance the overall user experience for everyone. Developers may innovate new ways to present information, leading to more engaging and effective eLearning experiences.??
• As learning and development professionals, we are responsible for ensuring that our content can be accessed by a diverse audience, regardless of their abilities, location and technology. Including accessibility from the start of the design process enables the content to reach a wider audience, contribute to a more positive and effective learning environment and promote equal educational opportunities.?
• Making our content accessible isn't just important because it's the right thing to do - it's also a legal requirement in many regions and organisations. Taking a proactive approach to accessibility helps us stay compliant and future-proof our content, so that it remains relevant and accessible as technologies and trends evolve. By ensuring compliance from the start, we can avoid the need for costly updates later on.?

At Mint, we're continually developing our in-house knowledge of accessibility and ways to blend the technical aspects with the principles of learning theory to create an engaging learner experience for all.??

Education plays a crucial role in shaping societal values. By championing digital accessibility within our organisation, we can pass this knowledge on to our clients in our recommendations, design and development and contribute to a culture of inclusivity, sending a powerful message about embracing diversity.
