The embedded Talent Acquisition model - embrace the change!



As the Director of MJ Solutions, I am often asked the question.

“What is an Embedded TA model?”

Let’s de-mystify this solution, it has many names RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourced), Embedded TA model and Project recruitment model, different names aside they all do the same thing, which is to:

?“Take care of volume hiring for a client for a set period of time.”

Due to the fractured nature of the global economy where boom and bust cycles seem to be ongoing at a higher frequency, employers need to hire fast and also let go of people in the same measure.

This leaves internal Talent acquisition teams in a precarious position – where do they go once the hiring stops? (Obviously, most get let go) Businesses also need to build TA teams up quickly as possible once hiring restarts –

So a solution would be ?- how about a holding pen for TA folks, which clients can utilize when the need arises?!

A flexible alternative is needed….

This is where the embedded TA model really shines, it’s an on-demand service used for the hiring period only. Once the hiring is done the team returns to the agency and are utilized for other projects and the cost to the client stops!

The plug and play nature of this service gives the client business the flexibility on several fronts:

?Yes, but for it to work well, both client and agency need to be on the same page at all times.

-?????????Invest the time to understand the TA challenges at the beginning, meet all the stakeholders involved in the hiring process. Talk to your full time TA team (their jobs are not at risk!)

-?????????Ring fence dedicated openings to the embedded team to avoid overlap with your full-time team.

So in a nutshell, the Embedded TA model can work but it’s about getting the synergy right between client, agency and the volume of work to make it feasible and a success.
