Well, we are finally here. A long wait has come to an end. Microsoft has just released Power BI web part (preview ) for integrating Power BI reports so easily to SharePoint Online modern pages .

Prerequisites:

  • Tenant needs to be enrolled in the Set up standard or first release options in Office 365.
  • The first release for everyone must be selected.
  • Every user must have Power BI pro license to see the report.
  • The Power BI web part needs modern pages. It can’t be added to classic pages.

Step 1: Get URL of the report

Step 2: Add Power BI web part to SharePoint Page

Step 3: Add Report to Power BI Web Part

When I embed a power bi url with a filter (e.g: https://app.powerbi.com/groups/abcc9460-0484-45b0-818d-afcfa0d2ed10/reports/8ef959e1-808c-49d0-bc2d-be786f55cfa6/ReportSection/?filter=Invesmentlistqfr/Title eq 'Fund1' ) the filter is not taken into account and I see the whole list of items in the filtering area. Did you manage to get this to work?
